How we can help
For the entrepreneur planning to sell their business, a CBV can help increase its value. For clients involved in litigation, engaging a CBV increases the likelihood of a successful resolution of the dispute prior to trial. In income tax matters, engaging a CBV reduces the risk of a challenge to the valuation by CRA.
The Chartered Business Valuation (CBV) designation is the premier credential for business valuators in Canada. To obtain the designation, candidates must undertake an extensive educational program and satisfy practical experience requirements. After qualification they continue their education through regional workshops and national conferences that address current and evolving industry topics. This training equips them to resolve the critical issues that arise when valuing a business.
The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators has issued Standards of Practice that ensure the quality and consistency of the work performed by a CBV, who must also abide by the CICBV's Code of Ethics.
